(1)  고통이나 스트레스 ,  공포를 동반하지 않고 무의식 및 죽음을 유도할 수 있는 능력 (2)  무의식을 유도하기 위해 필요한 시간 (3)  신뢰도 (4)  시술자에 대한 안전 (5)  비가역성 (6)  연구 목적과의 일치 (7)  시술자나 관찰자에게 끼치는 정서적인 효과 (8)  연구내용과 조직의 사용에 있어서의 일치 (9)  약물의 사용과 남용가능성 (10)  종과 나이 ,  건강상태의 적합성 (11)  적절한 방법으로 장비를 유지할 수 있는 능력 II.  흡입물질 흡입되는 가스가 동물에 영향을 주기 위해서는 폐포에서 어느 정도 이상의 농도가 되어야 한다 . 혼수상태에 이르기 전에 발작을 일으키는 물질은 안락사에 사용할 물질로 적절치 않다 . 흡입물질에 대해 일반적으로 숙지할 사항은 다음과 같다 . l         혼수상태의 시작이 빠르기 때문에 안락사는 인도적이다 . l         이러한 고농도의 물질을 운반하고 ,  유지하는 장비들은 정부의 규정을 따라야 하고 ,  철저한 실험 계획 하에 이루어져야 한다 . l         이러한 물질의 대부분은 사람에게 위험하다 . l  ...
